Polynesian Printmaking

Today we were lucky enough to have Bianca from the Christchurch Art Gallery.  She taught us about famous Polynesian Artists Fau Feu'u and John Pule.  We learnt that Tapa is an important part of Pacific culture.  Each Pacific culture has its own way of using colour, pattern and pictures in their tapa design.

We had a go at making our own Room 3 Tapa Cloth.  We think it is wonderful!
